California

Our last stop in the USA, before the big move, was California . . . We arrived in San Diego and accompanied Wes's friend Andrus to an acupuncture session. Andrus and his girlfriend Brandy cooked us much needed healthy and delicious food(Vegas isn't very vegetarian friendly). They were incredible hospitable and kind.
The next day we hiked around Torrey Pines, which was gorgeous, and then headed up to Long Beach. Andrus showed us around the Gnostic Center that he and Brandy attend, and then we headed down to Huntington Beach.
Emily and Micah planned a bonfire on the beach, which after taking some time to get started, turned into a pretty great fire. Wes's friends Marcy and Mitzuki came up from Irvine and joined us. It was a great night spent with great people, where we learned that it is possible to roast oranges and bananas. We also learned that Micah is the greatest DDR player in the state of California . . .
The next day we spent time with our friends and tried to relax before our big departure the following day. Emily and Micah also bought a dog that day (which they named Hophee), and we instantly fell in love with him. (Look at the photo, you would too.)

We are very grateful of all of our friends and family who spent time with us before we left for Taiwan. Thank you so much for all of the love.
