Hello friends. We're now in the Cameron Highlands, after being in Kuala Lumpur for 2 and half days.
Our second day in KL was nice. We took a bus out to the Batu Caves, which were amazing. The caves are enormous and they are filled with Hindu shrines. You walk up 273 stairs to the main cave and then in you go. It was funny because inside the main cave there were cats, chickens, and monkeys galore, it reminded me of being in India. One of the monkeys actually walked up to a girl who was sitting on the stairs and reached into her shirt to get a bag of chips she was hiding. Needless to say, the monkeys were super "friendly."
After wondering around the caves and eating some ice cream, we headed back into KL to see the National Mosque and the Islamic Art Museum. We got to the mosque close to prayer time, so they weren't allowing any non-muslim guests in. It was still beautiful to see the outside, so we weren't dissapointed. The Islamic Art Museum was pretty nice. We left feeling like we wished it were a little different, but overall it was interesting.
The next morning we slept in and then caught a bus to the Cameron Highlands. We took some form of dramamine before boarding and it was super strong. Wes and I slept for pretty much the entire 4 and half hour trip. When I woke up I got out of the bus and was pleasantly surprised at how much cooler it is up here.
The scenery is indescribably beautiful and it is so nice to finally be out of the city. We are both really excited to do some hiking in the next few days. Toodles.
